COMPANY INFORMATION
Founded in 1926, Societa Radio Brevetti Ducati is established, Though not as a motorcycle manufacturer. The company made radio equipment. In 1944, the Ducati factory was destroyed by a bombing. After this, Ducati looked to build other products, and with the encouragement of the Italian government, the company focused on a motorized bicycle.
Ducati was known at first for its sporty line of lightweight single-cylinder bikes, Ducati hit its stride in the early 1970s with its V-Twin sports bikes that were the pinnacle in their era. Ducati's racing heritage is outstanding. Models such as the 900SS Mike Hailwood Replica, the DesmoSedici, the 851/888, the 916, 999, and more recently the Panigales have stamped their mark as iconic racing machines.
Ducati, now owned by Audi, currently produces some of the world's most desirable motorcycles. Ducati makes sophisticated bikes in various distinct market segments: Superbike, Supersport, Monster, Multistrada, SportClassic, Scrambler and Hypermotard.
ICONIC RACE-DERIVED DUCATIS
There are so many iconic Ducatis to choose from it's difficult to cover them all. Some will treasure the singles from the 1970s, for others it's the 'L' Twins. Then there's the Monster that inspires so many; the best-selling Scrambler range; or the 'go anywhere' class-leading Multistrada. Lastly, the race-derived bikes that are admired by all for their sensational design and hi-tech wizardry.
