Ducati Desmosedici is a four-stroke V4 engine racing motorcycle made by Ducati for MotoGP racing.
The series nomenclature is GP with the two-digit year appended, such as Desmosedici GP10 for 2010.
In 2004, Ducati announced (at the Misano circuit at the World Ducati Week) that a low volume road replica of the Desmosedici would be available for Reservations beginning in June 2006. With Ducati making 1,500 Desmosedici street-legal models for public purchase.This ultra-rare exotic Ducati Desmosedici RR is highly sought-after by collectors and riders alike.
The developments made with the Desmosedici throughout MotoGP are what ultimately led Ducati to introduce the current Panigale V4 models.
