Why do so many motorcyclists choose to ride in ‘minimal gear.’
On the face of it, this careless disregard for personal safety - especially amongst the cruiser fraternity - would seem foolhardy. But are we missing the point?
In order to get to the bottom of why these riders do this, we decided to examine the psychological aspects behind the trend. To help us achieve this, we conducted an informal survey - during which, over 2,500 Canadian riders kindly responded.
Interestingly, 78% of those who responded either own, or have owned, cruisers. We wanted to get their perspective on their riding gear and the choices they had made.
