For far too long, the motorcycle clothing industry has largely ignored the needs of women riders. They harboured under the impression that pastel colours - and especially pink - or flowery motifs were all that was required to adorn women’s clothing. But what they failed to understand were the customer’s requirements.
In the backdrop of this, women riders had little choice other than to default to wearing men’s clothing. Clothing that was typically only available in black and didn’t fit particularly well.
Finally, clothing companies have woken up to the needs of women riders and have started to produce quality protective gear. Gear that actually takes the feminine form into consideration and, best of all, is not covered in ridiculous floral patterns.
To showcase some of the the latest crop of women’s gear, we trotted off to SimplyMoto and did a photoshoot.
